As a medical practice, we look for patients doing extraordinary things. Patients are encouraged to take tokens and share. The interesting thing is that the kids will find people doing things for others and are excited to give the tokens
"A little girl gave one to me after I picked up her bear on the train for her". This person received a token from the folks in D.C. who distributed them on their trip, and now Delaware is ordering tokens of their own.
As I was taking my break from work, me and my co-worker was standing by when a lady was struggling to help her companion do a parallel Park, as a random act of kindness my mother always tell me, I help them back up and park safely into their spot. Helping them out today was something I used do but also just watch people struggle so I had a single thought of my mother would do. Be a human being.
I watched a man pull his car over on a highway on ramp, jump a guard rail and run over to a homeless man to give him what looked like a huge, delicious sandwich. The recipient of this gesture was so excited and I gave him a thumbs up and a smile as I drove by. If it had been safe to do so, the sandwich man would have gotten a token! Just watching this interaction made my day.
